La Valencia Hotel La Jolla

La Valencia Hotel is known to locals as The Pink Lady of La Jolla, because of its pink exterior. The hotel has been providing guests with classic luxury and million dollar views since 1926. From the beginning, La Valencia has been a Hollywood hideaway for some of its brightest stars. The La Jolla Playhouse, launched by Gregory Peck, brought legions of celebrities to La Jolla during Hollywood’s 36-year Golden Age while they starred in local theater. Many stayed at La Valencia then, and new celebrities still use it today as their San Diego getaway.

In 1986, the historic landmark hotel was first chosen to join Preferred Hotels Worldwide, which it still belongs to today. Now called Preferred Hotels & Resorts, the elite group is comprised of more than 650 of the best independent hotels and resorts in 85 countries. The timeless hotel has earned a number of awards including 10 Best Boutique Hotels in Southern California by USA Today Travel, Fido’s Favorite Award by Bring Fido, Best Places to Eat and Drink by Food & Wine, Top World’s Hotels by Travel + Leisure, and Award of Excellence by Wine Spectator, among others.
