Like their name implies, every accommodation at Sommerset Suites Hotel is a suite. There are six styles from which to choose, and three of those are rated ADA accessible. Each contemporary suite boasts a palette of blues, greys, and neutrals. The clean design and comfortable ambiance is like a relaxing welcome home after an action-packed day of San Diego activities. All suites include large private balconies, full kitchens, and flat screen TVs (two in the one-bedroom suites). Enjoy all the comforts of home with room amenities like complimentary Wi-Fi, in-room pay-per-view movies, free HBO, plush bathrobes, and Keurig coffeemakers with gourmet coffees.
The spacious one-room studio suites are just over 400 square feet. They come in three styles: the standard Studio Suite, Studio Suite Accessible, and Studio Suite with Roll-In Shower. Studio suites feature a work space with desk and swivel chair, comfortable seating – often a comfy plush reclining chair, and a queen size bed with plenty of pillows. There are no sofas in the Studio Suites.
The 560 square foot one-bedroom suites also come in three styles: the One-bedroom Double Suite, One-bedroom King Suite, and One-bedroom King Accessible Suite. The One-bedroom Double Suite has two double beds in the bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the separate living room; it accommodates up to six guests. Both the One-bedroom King Suites also feature sleeper sofas in the separate living room and can accommodate up to four guests.
Room tip: Some guests complain about ambulance sirens throughout the day due to the hotel’s proximity to Mercy Hospital, although it’s quieter at night. Rooms have blackout curtains for sleeping in or daytime napping. There are no DVD players/game stations in the suites. Balcony rooms above the pool make for the best views.
