The US Grant San Diego from the Luxury Collection

The US Grant Hotel in San Diego has been a local icon in the historic Gaslamp Quarter since 1910. It’s where celebrities and the California elite spent an entire day and night celebrating its grand opening. Over the years it has gone through many renovations; the latest was completed in 2006, which returned it to its former grandeur with a contemporary twist. The lobby gives guests the first hint at what promises to be an epicurean experience in opulent surroundings.

Walk through the legendary doors of the US Grant Hotel, and you are greeted with sparkling chandeliers, gorgeous artwork adorning the walls, and hand-loomed silk carpets. The US Grant is designed with classic Empire-style furnishings with a modern twist. This Four-Diamond hotel holds several awards that include a Forbes Four-Star rating, a Platinum Choice Award, and several San Diego Magazine awards throughout the years. This historically rich hotel, named after President Ulysses S. Grant, exudes class and luxury.

US Grant Rooms

There are three choices for guest rooms at the US Grant; all of them have a regal ambiance that showcases the hotel’s rich history along with contemporary touches. Each style comes with nine-foot ceilings, crown moldings, and commissioned French and Native American artwork displayed throughout the rooms. Thick imported carpets caress your toes; Empire-style furnishings complement each room, such as a large free-standing mirror and an executive desk. The contemporary comes in the form of a 32” plasma TV and a CD player/clock radio. Choose between a king or two double pillow-top beds equipped with an original Yves Clement drip-painting headboard and 300 thread count Italian sheets. The bathrooms are designed with soothing marble, refined basin sinks, enclosed glass showers, and Remede Spa bath products.

There are slight differences in the three styles of guest rooms; choices are Superior, Deluxe, and Grand Deluxe. The Superior has all the features listed above in anywhere from 300 to 400 square feet. The Deluxe offers everything the Superior boasts, but also exceptional views of the city, a residential foyer with wood flooring, and a little more room at anywhere from 380 to 420 square feet. The Grand Deluxe takes the guest room a step further with a top floor location – a quiet oasis with first class technology, and a regal feel. The foyer is also slightly more impressive than in the Deluxe rooms. The bathroom includes a whirlpool tub to soak away your stress. You can expect each room or suite in this historic hotel to be unique.

US Grant Suites

There are six suites to choose from catering to the different needs and desires of the guests. The Legacy and Landmark suites are the smaller options; both have residential foyers that lead the way into classic, yet contemporary styled suites. Both bedrooms and bathrooms in each of the suites are similarly styled to the guest rooms, and come with plush robes and slippers. The Landmark also has its own refreshment center; these are perfect options for couples or small families.

The Event Planner Suites are the perfect option for working event professionals who also need to rest after a long day. These suites are located in the heart of the event venues adjacent to the Presidential Ballroom and second floor meeting spaces. There are two 900 square foot Event Planner Suites; each comes with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, ample office space, and combined living and meeting room areas. The interior is styled in the same elegant manner as the guest rooms with the same amenities as the Landmark and Legacy.

There are two Bi-Level Presidential Suites and one Penthouse Presidential Suite at the US Grant that epitomize the true meaning of opulence. The Bi-Level Presidential Suites are located on the 9th and 10th floors; the master bedroom and attached master bathroom are on the 10th floor with an expansive balcony that offers breathtaking views of the San Diego Skyline and Cobalt Bay. The other floor is the entertaining level with amenities like a 50-inch TV, dining room table with 6 chairs, service area/wet bar, and more.

The Penthouse Presidential Suite takes up the entire 11th floor with panoramic views of the San Diego Skyline, San Diego Bay, and Coronado Bay Bridge. You may never check out the epic views once you see the master bathroom. It is equipped with an infinity whirlpool with remote controlled Chromatherapy features that allow you to change the LED lights built into the tub to fit or set the mood. There is also an enclosed shower in the master with dual stone basin sinks; warm, plush slippers complement this spa bathroom. These suites are perfect for anyone who loves to indulge in the finer things in life.

For families who like a certain amount of privacy, the Signature Suites are the perfect choice where sleeping, living, and dining co-exist in this elegant studio plan. These cream, golden, and chocolate decorated studio suites are 700 square feet and offer all the amenities one would need. The suite comes with an executive desk, dining area for four, spacious living room, refreshment console, and large bathroom featuring a 10 x 10 foot walk-in marble shower with six shower heads, his and her sinks, and plush bathrobes and slippers. This is the suite for a family oasis.
