The Patriot Jet Boat is an impressive vessel, one designed to comfortably accommodate well over a hundred passengers. Checking in at approximately 70 feet long, it features two turbo-charged jet engines and a cutting-edge sound system perfect for making the tour narration audible over the sound of the wind racing past you as you whiz through the harbor. It’ll also be blasting energetic music as your boat does an assortment of dazzling 360-degree turns in the shadow of some of San Diego’s greatest attractions.

The Patriot Jet Boat Tour

The Patriot Jet Boat Thrill Ride is one of San Diego’s most exciting and adventurous tours. Though Patriot Jet Boat prides itself on the claim that each one of their Thrill Ride tours is a unique experience, there are some regular highlights you can expect to be consistent from tour to tour. All tours depart from Flagship Cruises HQ at Broadway Pier in San Diego’s bustling Embarcadero area, just north of the historic USS Midway Museum. From there you’ll race around San Diego Bay, enjoying its gorgeous harbor as you’ve never seen it before. Throughout your half-hour tour you’ll have distinctive views of such San Diego landmarks as Coronado Bridge, North Island Naval Station, the Maritime Museum, and of course, the San Diego skyline. All the while your jet boat will be hitting speeds of 50 mph and treating you to a full array of unforgettable tricks and turns.

Helpful Tips for your Patriot Jet Boat Tour

If you’ve never been on a boat tour like the Patriot Jet Boat Thrill Ride, you’re in for a real treat. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you prepare for your big outing.

• The Patriot Jet Boat is an open-air boat—all the better to let you experience the full wonder of the sea breeze in your face as you race across the north harbor of San Diego Bay. However, given the speed your jet boat is zooming across the water at—with a fair few delightful twists and turns thrown in—it’s more than likely you’re going to get wet. Patriot Jet Boat provides ponchos, and it’s recommended you wear them, but you’ll still want to dress accordingly.

• If you have a personal history of seasickness, you’ll want to strongly consider taking some sort of preventive medicine for motion sickness before going on the Thrill Ride, as the tour can get quite rough in spots. If you know this sort of thing has been a big issue for you in the past, sadly this might not be the tour for you.

• The Patriot Jet Boat can hold approximately 130 people during a given tour, and seating is first come, first served. If you want to be picky about where you sit, it’s a good idea to arrive that extra bit early.
